| Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship | The Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF) Scheme for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes is formulated and funded by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Ministry of Tribal Affairs. This scheme is open to candidates who wish to pursue higher studies such as regular and full time M.Phil. and Ph.D degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology without JRF of UGC-NET or CSIR-UGC NET from Indian Universities/Institutions/ Colleges. ELIGIBILITY: The candidate should belong to SC/ST and should have passed the Post Graduate examination. The selection is made on the basis of candidate's merit. Registration: The candidate must get registered for M.Phil./Ph.D at the first available opportunity but not later than within a period of 2 years from the receipt of award letter. This period is not extendable. Total period of RGNF is for 5 years, with no further provision of extension. Advertisement are made in leading newspapers and Employment News. The same is also uploaded in the UGC Website www.ugc.ac.in Candidates willing to apply for the fellowship need to make online application for the fellowship on the official website of Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF). There is no need to send any printed document or application form to UGC by post. No offline applications: The applications for the fellowship need to be made online only and there is no process for offline application.
